Today, the Weybourne cliffs have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with exposures of Weybourne Crag and Cromer Forest Bed deposits overlying the Chalk bedrock. The Forest Bed formation is notable for its Mammalian fossils which have been found along the base of the cliffs and foreshore between Weybourne in Norfolk and Kessingland in Suffolk.
