Sweden's future Queen was entertained by all kinds of famous national artists, but the only pop act invited to participate was ABBA, who performed the most appropriate 'Dancing Queen', which would become their next single. Strangely, even this royal recognition caused ABBA problems, when several Swedish newspapers erroneously assumed that 'Dancing Queen' had been specially written for the occasion by Benny, Stig and Björn. This was patently untrue, as the song had been mentioned six months before as one of the tracks completed over the 1975 Christmas holiday, but it seems that all too often, the Swedish media were eager to criticise the most successful entertainers their country had ever produced...
Arrival' also achieved the distinction of being the first ABBA album to be certified gold in the US. Reviewers were much more enthusiastic about Arrival' than they had been about either ABBA' or Waterloo'. 'Dancing Queen' and That's Me' were familiar, of course, but of the other eight tracks, the one selected for most praise was 'Tiger', which was freely tipped as a suitable follow up to 'Dancing Queen'. 'Why Did It Have To Be Me', on which Björn sang lead, also attracted attention for its rhythm & blues styled backing but, strangely enough, few critics commented on the tracks which would become ABBA's next two singles, 'Money, Money, Money' and 'Knowing Me, Knowing You'.
The next task was to write lyrics which matched the ideas suggested by the title, and these were successfully completed during the early part of 1974. Everything now seemed ready for the first hurdle, the Swedish Eurovision heat. Then came a red herring: Björn and Benny produced another tune which sounded equally strong, although they didn't have a title for it. Stig, who was about to go on holiday to the Canary Isles, took a cassette of the new melody with him, and pondered over the problem, until finally he adopted a phrase used by everyone in the Canaries, 'Hasta Manana', which means 'see you tomorrow'.
